Consulting Services

My statistical consulting services have been utilized in a wide variety of areas, including biostatistics and clinical trials, health care delivery, market research, psychometrics and assessment, education, organizational development, program evaluation, environmental research, information technology and telecommunications, and finance.  I have worked in many different organizational contexts, including academic research departments, government agencies, businesses, and non-profit organizations.   The main services that I provide are the following:

 

Research Design: I can assist you with the initial stages of research design, including the development of research proposals, identifying statistical analyses that will address the questions that you want to ask, writing and editing the analysis section of grant proposals, and budgeting for the costs of statistical analyses. I can conduct a power analysis to ensure that you have an adequate number of subjects for your study. I can review your questionnaires or other instruments to ensure that the measurements you are using will

lend themselves well to analysis.

 

Data Analysis: I will draw on my experience with a wide variety of statistical techniques to provide a personalized approach to analysis that meets your unique needs.  I will provide you with clear and easy to follow written reports on the results of the statistical analysis.  I will work with you to clarify any questions concerning the analysis and results, or to identify new and promising directions for further inquiry.  I also provide assistance in preparing manuscripts for publication and presentation.

 

Measurement Development and Validation:  I can help you to evaluate a measure that you are using, or to develop your own psychometrically sound instrument.   I can assist you with such steps as the definition of a content domain, item development, item difficulty, standardization, validity and reliability analyses, identifying and discarding statistically weak items, and constructing reliable short forms of measures.

 

Database Management: I can develop a database for you to enter your data into your computer. Once the data have been entered, we can help you to inspect the data for errors, such as out-of-range values, and maintain quality control over data collection. 

 

Report Writing:  I can provide you with written reports of the findings of your research, and assist you by reviewing drafts written by you or members of your firm.
